ZuCan offers two programs that you may choose from: you may
participate in the intensive program or the volunteer program.
Intensive Program
In the intensive program, you will receive a cash stipend and
food stamps for participating in the activities that are designed
to provide you work skills such as education, training and work
experience. These activities will require at least 35 hours
per week, and your career coach will clearly outline the schedule
of activities to help you manage your time and progress. You
will be required to submit proof that you participated in the
activities, and you will meet with your career coach
regularly.
As part of the intensive program, you may also take advantage
of additional services to help you achieve your career goals, such
as childcare and help paying for your transportation.
Volunteer Program
The volunteer program offers limited services compared to the
intensive program. If you participate in the volunteer
program, you may receive food stamps; however, you will not receive
the cash stipend or childcare. If you select this option, you
may receive up to a $20 for transportation to travel to school,
look for work or gain work experience.
